Topic: Generating Quality Leads in Manufacturing
Are you a manufacturing professional who is looking for ways to improve your contact database? Are you tired of approaching contacts and struggling to get the results you want, and are you ready to stop looking for the “right” lead generation system and start focusing on the “right” leads?
The nature of the modern sales cycle has changed, and it’s become harder to “sell” and convert “leads” into “customers”. This happens in part because digital marketing has changed the buying patterns of the general population, and in part because the nature of the sales cycle has changed- a traditionally 12-month funnel has been shortened to a much smaller period.
Twitter Chat Questions for U.S. Manufacturers & Champions
Q1) What are some of the challenges you have faced in finding high-quality leads for your salespeople?
Our Twitter chat manufacturers and manufacturing advocates shared their thoughts about finding quality leads for their company here.
Q2) How much time do you have to generally spend pre-qualifying leads?
In basic terms, pre-qualifying leads is the process where a potential client engages with your business to get to know you, your services, and your business. To pre-qualify a lead, you’ll need to know whether or not the person on the other end of the line is a good fit for your business.
Q3) What are your 3 top resources for finding leads in your niche?
Finding the right marketing platform to help your business grow is a critical first step, but it is only the first step. You also need to back up your efforts with a solid foundation of good content that will get people to your site.
Q4) What sort of information are you missing and wish you had on your prospects in manufacturing?
You have your lead generation system, and you have your list of prospects. What you may not have is the information that will help you determine the best way to contact your prospects and keep them interested. You may not know, for example, whether most on your list of prospects are interested in manufacturing, or if there are differences in the business, that are considered in manufacturing. You may not have the information you need to ensure that you are communicating the right message to your prospects.
Q5) Do you use purchase lists? If so, what are some of the downsides of the lists you are using?
Sure there are many companies out there that sells leads list. It has merits but it can be iffy at times.
Q6) How have your communications with potential clients changed since COVID? Are you starting to see an improvement?
It used to be that you had one source for leads—your website. Nowadays, you can run ads on Google, Bing, Facebook, and other sites in addition to your site. This gives you better lead generation, but also a tougher job of managing leads.
